I’ve got a couple of huge announcements! Prepare yourselves!!
Everyone knows the fashion giant, H&M, and EVERYONE should have heard of VERSACE.
Well, this fall, Versace is designing for H&M!!!
(insert shocked and mega pleased anime face here)
Thats like the biggest thing since Lanvin designed for H&M last fall(the collection which sold out in a matter of minutes).
Apparently, lady Versace, Donatella, said in 2008 (in her own words) -“I respect everyone who does it. But the reason I didn’t do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand,” she told New York Magazine.
However, rather than ‘diffusion’, this line is being sold as an ‘Iconic Collection’ for which Donatella will raid the archives of the Italian fashion house that was founded by her brother Gianni in 1978.
(Anyone see that design, leather gown with gold studs and a faux fur coat? I WANT THAT! I need that! I would get that! Amen!! )
“Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant – everything Versace stands for,” said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M – who has masterminded collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garcons and Jimmy Choo in the past. “Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season.”
This is exciting news! I’m opening a savings account yo! This shall not pass me by!
This collection, both menswear, womenswear and homewear, would go on sale NOVEMBER 17!
Mark that in your calender!
This would be followed by a pre-spring collection that would be available online from JANUARY 19.
We are told to expect studded leather and prints for girls, sharp tailoring and lots of blings for the boys.
Honestly, i’m excited about the collarboration, and i hope it wouldnt hurt the brand, Versace that is. I am looking forward to seeing the collection.
